Mozambique: Chapo in Beijing Seeking Financing

Along with South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Namibia, Mozambique forms the "hard core" of Chinese strategic partners in Africa. As part of the Vision for China-Africa Cooperation 2035, approved in 2024, Beijing decided to adapt its approach to the continent through the Hunan Model, changing the previous paradigm that transformed Africa into a target for natural resource extraction and infrastructure construction, known as the Angola Model.
