Mozambique: Amilcar Tivane, Minister of Finance ‘de facto’ Before IMF
The reappointment of the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, AMÍLCAR TIVANE (AT), from the last government of FILIPE NYUSI (FN), to the post of Secretary of State for the Treasury and Budget was well received by the financial and business sector.
AT has a good image among the main players in the financial system, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the main banks such as MBIM, BCI, Barclays and Standard Bank. MT was politically responsible, together with the central bank led by ROGÉRIO ZANDAMELA, for the creation and implementation of the Mozambique Sovereign WealthFund (AM 1437), fuelled by hydrocarbon revenues and imposed by the IMF.
