Mozambique: New Mining Law Creates Uncertainty Among Multinational Companies in Operation

Setting a minimum 15% stake for the new National Mining Company (ENM), in a free carry format, in the capital of mining companies that exploit strategic mineral resources, constitutes another critical condition, although it is unlikely to be applicable to companies already in operation such as SR, under penalty of the government finding itself "surrounded" by litigation and arbitration processes that could turn into burdens for which it currently lacks liquidity.
