Mozambique: Government Imposes on Foreigners Local Content Requirements in Free Zones
The government of DANIEL CHAPO (DC) has introduced new “local content” requirements for foreign direct investment in industrial free zones (ITZs) and special economic zones (SEZs) with the regulation of the 2023 investment law. The regulation has been in effect since 24.APR and will cover some of the companies that currently benefit from the exception regime for being based in ITZs.
