The willingness of the People's Republic of China to host DANIEL CHAPO (DC) on a five-day official visit generated expectations in circles close to the P4, focused on "economic diplomacy," i.e., attracting Chinese investors and promoting public-private partnerships to expand relations beyond public works and the extraction of natural resources, such as timber.
