Guinea-Bissau: Sissoco's Increasing Control Tames Electoral Process

Control of the domestic judicial apparatus was strengthened by USE's agreement with several political parties, allowing the formation of a new government led by BRAIMA CAMARÁ (BC) (AM Flash 25-37). UMARO SISSOCO EMBALÓ and his supporting parties control the entire appeals mechanism: regional election committees, the National Elections Commission (CNE), and the Supreme Court of Justice.
