Guinea-Bissau: Regional Concern, Relative International Apathy

The attention given to the Guinean opposition and civil society by embassies of African countries is considered greater. It is common knowledge that Nigeria and Senegal, in both cases breaking with a certain appeasement towards the US by their previous PRs, are the countries in the region most attentive to the situation in Guinea-Bissau, even leading ECOWAS to "take action."
The Angolan regime has long maintained a distance from USE, especially due to an approach towards UNITA with which he reacted to JOÃO LOURENÇO's supportive stance towards DSP, in contesting the legitimacy of his presidential election.
