In the phase of the withdrawal of the contingents of the SADC Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM), whose effects were expected to be heavy (AM 1449), the Islamic-inspired armed groups active in Cabo Delgado again attacked the headquarters village of the district of Macomia, the one that has recorded the highest number of attacks and incursions since the beginning of the conflict. The intensity of the attack was greater than a first invasion of the village in 2020. The area was previously patrolled by SAMIM, in progressive withdrawal until JUL.
