Mozambique: Infighting and Instability in Cahora Bassa Under New Management

The gifts decided by TM in recent months have even bothered several members of FRELIMO, faced with the need to promote a public image of moderation and austerity in an elections year.

The complacency to internal complaints demonstrated by the secretary of the trade union committee at HCB, JUSTÍCIO ZEFANIAS, is attributed to compensations of various types, giving rise to an inorganic complaint movement. The administration accuses the same of being the responsibility of former managers dismissed in the restructuring process, although it does not comment on the documents that have been poured out in the meantime and which are evidence of the questionable management in progress.
