The current administration attaches special strategic importance to US participation in the project. The connection of the Benguela Railway (CFB) with the railway networks of Zambia and DR Congo, and through both with the coasts of East and South Africa, is the main goal of the project. The railway transit through Angola of minerals from the countries of the hinterland exported through the port of Lobito, as well as of imports of goods intended for them also processed there, is considered sufficient to guarantee the return on investment.
