The foundation of NJ involved the Espírito Santo group, through ESCOM, and some of the main figures of the JOSÉ EDUARDO dos SANTOS regime: Gen. LEOPOLDINO DO NACIMENTO (“Dino”), Gen. HÉLDER VIEIRA DIAS “KOPELIPA” and CARLOS FEIJÓ.
In 2010, a company presented as Media Investments, allegedly linked to “Kopelipa”, bought, in full, the Angolense weekly and A Capital and took a minority stake in the capital of NJ, in this case by the transfer of part of the stake of ESCOM.
