Elements of Islamic-inspired armed cells active in the province of Cabo Delgado have been sighted in increasing numbers in the central-northern districts, especially in Macomia and Muidumbe.
The approach of armed groups to populations appears to have been softened, becoming less violent and more “social” (AM 1405), with recent records of “checkpoints” on some communication routes, with the aim of showing control of the territory to part of the population. READ MORE
