PR FILIPE NYUSI (FN), supported by the Makonde generals of Cabo Delgado, has insisted on the need to arm the local militias and reinforce their use, despite these being disorganized and out of control. Locally led, these militias lack regulation and framework, being viewed with reserve by military leadership and a source of frequent conflicts with the FADM.
