Mozambique: Neutralization of Guerrilla Warfare in Cabo Delgado Endangered by Emergence of New Leaders
Despite the government's attempts, through the FADM and the police (PRM), to assign responsibility for the infiltration of external elements into the armed insurrection, sources on the ground state that the leaders have always been almost all local, promoted by the fact that they know the terrain, speak local languages and get to know the people. These are also the ones that fuel the revolt against the government and FRELIMO.
In order to hide their identity so as not to be recognized by the local population and to protect the family in case they are identified, they adopt false names (“alias”), usually of Arabic origin or “Arabicze” their real names. READ MORE
