Domingos Simões Pereira (DSP) has been contested internally and has an internal opposition front (AM Flash 107). Three candidates have come forward against DSP: MARTILENE dos SANTOS (MS), OCTÁVIO LOPES and JOÃO BERNARDO VIEIRA (JBV). JBV, MP and former spokesperson for the party, is seen as the closest to DSP, having been a chance for a successor supported by the current president in case he did not go ahead.
