Mozambique: Chinese and Chissano "Push" New Logistics Corridor
The construction of a new "integrated" logistics corridor in Mozambique, the Chongoene Development Corridor (CDC) project, in Gaza province, combines a strong Mozambican political lobby with Chinese multinationals, but is still seeking financing.
The agreement came shortly after the opening by PR FILIPE NYUSI of the airport, also in the Chongone district, also promoted by Chinese companies and named after the PR. The airport was financed by Chinese funds and has the capacity to receive close to 220,000 passengers a year, but is inactive, and could become a "white elephant" with high maintenance costs for the State.
